Daemon and FreedomTM acquired by Dutton in Major Publishing Deal

Leinad Zeraus' hi-tech thrillers, Daemon and the upcoming FreedomTM, have been acquired by the Dutton imprint of Penguin Books. Daemon will be re-released by Dutton in hard cover in January, 2009. A release date for FreedomTM is not yet set.

Both books will be published under the author's real name, Daniel Suarez, not his nom de plume, 'Leinad Zeraus'.

Verdugo Press wants to thank all our readers for the tremendous grass roots support for the Daemon series of books. It was your enthusiasm and word-of-mouth referrals that prompted this deal -- which in turn will bring the series to a worldwide audience. Many thanks!

Changes Coming in Publishing Business Model?

The New York Times published this article about on-demand retail printing technology that might go a long way fixing the current book distribution process. This is particularly true if transportation costs increase further.

More Praise for Leinad Zeraus's high-tech thriller, Daemon

More than just another high-tech thriller, Daemon has captured the attention of technological experts worldwide. Jim McGee, Ph.D of Harvard Business School and a director of Huron Consulting Group says:

"Good storytelling can be one of the best ways to wrap your head around the implications of the technological changes we are immersed in. But that depends on finding storytellers who combine talent for story with a willingness and ability to understand the pertinent technologies. Zeraus qualifies. Daemon is highly recommended."
